Supporting Transitions: Creating Meaningful Cultural Internships for Individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities

Developing an inclusive cultural workforce relies on high quality training. This session will introduce participants to varied internship and training models for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities through programs that build critical pathways to an inclusive cultural workforce. Representatives from the Museum Access Consortium, a professional development and service organization supporting accessibility in cultural organizations, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts along with their partner school P94 - The SPECTRUM School, and the Queens Museum will demonstrate successful training techniques, share tools and resources, and engage in discussion about supporting individuals with autism as they transition to adulthood.
